To anyone still checking this blog in hopes of finding out what we're up to, my apologies for not updating it in so many months. We mostly post photos etc. on our Facebook pages now, and have been too busy to keep this blog up to date. I'll try to post things here more often, I promise!

Cuba, pt. 1

In February, we took a family trip to Cuba. It was a little ill-fated, you might say. But more about that later. First, a few scenic shots of the beach in Varadero. Unfortunately, it never really got warm, and the sun didn't put in too much of an appearance the whole time.

our big news

The big news from our neck of the woods is that we have sold our condo and we have bought a townhouse that will give us twice as much space to live in.

We have fallen a little behind on posting photos, but then again we have been very, very busy!

Christmas-morning fire

There was a big, raging fire in the early hours of Christmas Day in our neighbourhood, two blocks from where we live. It went on for many, many hours, and basically destroyed an entire block on the south side of Broadway between Main Street and Kingsway, including the store where we used to buy our vitamins and supllements!

Michaela got interviewed about the fire for news radio, and John posted this blog item about it for work, followed by this one (with a photo by Michaela).

Needless to say we didn't get much sleep on Christmas Eve!
